SRP Customers Can Receive Up to $800 in Utility Bill Assistance

SRP Customers Can Receive Up to $800 in Utility Bill Assistance

Eligible SRP customers experiencing financial hardship may qualify for up to $800 in utility bill assistance this summer through an SRP-funded program administered by Wildfire. With $5 million available, assistance is offered on a first-come, first-served basis through a network of community nonprofit organizations serving SRP customers.

Income-eligible customers experiencing a job loss, medical emergency, unexpected expense, or other financial hardship may qualify for assistance.

“No Arizonan should have to choose between cooling their home and paying for food, rent or other basic needs,” said Kelly McGowan, Wildfire executive director. “Through this partnership with SRP, households facing an unexpected financial setback can receive meaningful relief when they need it most. By working with trusted community agencies, we can ensure these resources reach families across the Valley and help them stay safe and cool this summer.”

More than 100 nonprofit organizations throughout the Valley will help customers apply for assistance and distribute funding to eligible households. To find a list of nonprofit organizations offering financial assistance this year, customers can visit srp.net/gethelp or call (602) 236-8888 or (602) 236-1111 for Spanish.

“These funds are an essential relief to keep our families and neighbors safe through financial hardships and rising temperatures,” said Marissa Calderón, Associate Director of Family Empowerment, Youth, and Community Services at Chicanos Por La Causa.

Customers will be asked to provide a current SRP bill or M-Power Customer Report, proof of identification and documentation verifying household income or financial hardship.

Customers who do not qualify for traditional low-income energy assistance might be eligible for Power AZ, a program provided by the State of Arizona. This program offers up to $640 in assistance to households with incomes up to 100% of the State Median Income, which is $8,998 per month for a household of four. For more information about this program, please visit the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) A to Z portal

Additionally, customers can contact SRP to find out if they qualify for the SRP Income Qualified Discount™.  Those with incomes between 0% and 150% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) may qualify for a monthly bill credit of $35. Customers with incomes between 151% and 200% of the FPL can receive a monthly bill credit of $10.

SRP offers a range of programs and resources to help customers manage energy costs, maintain electric service and connect with available assistance programs. For more information, customers can visit srp.net/heretohelp or contact SRP at (602) 236-8888 or (602) 236-1111 for Spanish.
