Disabled American Veterans Chapter 36 in Coolidge-Hydration Stations

Breaking News from Disabled American Veterans Chapter 36 in Coolidge
May 13, 2026

Disabled American Veterans Chapter 36 has launched a new program this summer. We are opening Hydration Stations for veterans from May through September.  Our goal is to provide access to water and shade for veterans, particularly those experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or navigating extreme summer heat. We hope to help prevent heat-related illness by offering immediate relief.

Local Partnerships:
We are starting with 3 locations and plan to expand in the near future.  Locations are:
·       DAV Chapter 36 Headquarters -  340 S. Main Street, Coolidge AZ
·       DAV Veterans Museum -  320 W. Central Avenue, Coolidge AZ
·       Hoffman Heating and Cooling - 188 S Arizona Blvd, Coolidge, AZ

Key Benefits for Arizona Veterans

  • Immediate Heat Relief: Stations provide cold water, shade, and air conditioning to prevent heatstroke, exhaustion, and death during excessive heat warnings.
  • Resource Access: Beyond water, these locations often provide access to resources like hygiene kits, snacks, and information on local veteran support services.
  • Health Safety: They mitigate the risk of chronic dehydration, which is prevalent in Arizona's dry climate.
  • Community Support: These stations provide a safe, welcoming place to rest, reducing the risk of illness for those living on the streets or in uncooled housing.
