ADOT's Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory (Phoenix Area)
Sept. 6-9, 2024

Weekend Travel Advisory
Hello from ADOT. Improvement projects will require closures of several sections of Phoenix-area freeways this weekend (Sept. 6-9). Click the Weekend Travel Advisory Map for information about these and other scheduled freeway restrictions (and possible detours):
  • Northbound I-17 closed at Jomax Road in north Phoenix from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 9). Traffic will detour along the off- and on-ramps at Jomax Road. Allow plenty of extra travel time. Northbound I-17 also narrowed to one lane between Jomax Road and Loop 303.
  • Westbound I-10 closed between US 60 (Superstition Freeway) and the I-17 "Split" interchange near Sky Harbor Airport from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday (Sept. 9). Detours include northbound Loop 101 to westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) in the Tempe area. Or consider using the Loop 202 (South Mountain Freeway).
  • Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) closed between Williams Field Road and Gilbert Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 9). Consider exiting ahead of the closure and using surface streets to travel beyond the closure. Or think about using westbound US 60.
  • Remember, there are other closures or restrictions that are listed on the Weekend Travel Advisory Map. That includes a closure of the southbound SR 51 ramp to either eastbound Loop 202 (toward Tempe) or westbound I-10 (toward the Deck Park Tunnel). Click the map for more information.
