Economic Development for Pinal County

Michelle Carpenter serves as Economic Development Coordinator for Pinal County, supporting business attraction and expansion, workforce development, tourism, and collaborative initiatives across the county. She works closely with local communities, businesses, chambers, and regional partners to connect organizations with resources and promote Pinal County as a place to invest, visit, and grow.
At the August 19 luncheon, Michelle will provide an overview of Pinal County's economic development efforts and explain how business attraction, workforce development, infrastructure, community partnerships, and tourism work together to build a strong local economy. She will highlight tourism as an important component of economic development, including its ability to support local businesses, generate visitor spending, enhance quality of life, and strengthen the identity of individual communities. Michelle will also discuss the vital role local destination marketing organizations, such as the Coolidge Chamber, play in promoting community assets, attractions, businesses, and events. Attendees will learn how submitting local events can increase visibility and contribute to broader countywide tourism promotion, as well as how Pinal County uses Placer.ai data to better understand visitation patterns, customer behavior, and economic activity.
