Historic Hayduke Building Ribbon Cutting
Historic Hayduke Building Ribbon Cutting
Wednesday, February 21, 2024
Please Join the Pinal County Board of Supervisors and the Coolidge Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 36, for a ribbon cutting and memorial dedication of the 1938 Historic Hayduke Building in Coolidge.
Built in 1938, the Hayduke building served as a central feature in Coolidge life for many years. While it was the Trailways bus station, it became the spot where young men left for the Korean War and others. It was a place of tearful goodbyes, and for many, it was the last these service members ever saw of home.
Pinal County Purchased and renovated the building as the District 1 Supervisor’s office. The ribbon cutting will include a dedication ceremony for a bronze memorial plaque in “gratitude to the soldiers who left from this bus station to defend our nation, and in memory of those for whom this was the last they ever saw of home.”
